英文摘要: Stripe artifacts, caused by high absorption or high scattering structures in the illumination light path, is a common but serious problem in both uni-directional and multi-directional Light Sheet Fluorescence Microscopy (LSFM), significantly deteriorating image quality. To circumvent this problem, an effective Multi-Directional Stripe Remover (MDSR) method based on Non-Subsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT) is proposed for both uni-directional and multi-directional LSFM in this paper. In MDSR, a fast fourier transform (FFT) filter was designed in the NSCT domain to shrink the stripe components and eliminate the noise. Benefiting from the properties of being multi-scale and multi-directional, MDSR succeeds in eliminating stripe artifacts in both uni-directional and multi-directional LSFM. To validate the method, MDSR is tested on images from a custom-made uni-directional LSFM system and a commercial multi-directional LSFM system. The visual evaluation shows that MDSR removes most of the stripe artifacts. Moreover, we perform a comparative experiment with VSNR (Variational Stationary Noise Remover) and wavelet-FFT method and quantitatively analyze these methods with a Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). The experimental results support that our MDSR has better performance in noise removal.
