Other AbstractAimed to loca ting all the insta nces of multiple templates in o ne image , a fast and mo re effec tiv e multiple templa tes locating alg orithms based o n clustering and synthesizing o f templa tes is pro po sed. This algo rithm can pro cess those m ultiple templates ev en if only some o f which a re similar to each o ther. But a ll the templa tes must be almost the same size. First, a hiera rchical clustering alg orithm with feedback is applied to cluster the templates into some ca teg o ries. In each categ or y a ma thema tical mo del is applied to sy nth esize the templates in it. And th us a mo th er template is constr ucted. Seco nd, the mo ther template of each ca teg o ry is used to sea rch and matching in the t ranslation space. And then the matched mo ther template is g uided to ch eck all the son templa tes. Edg e ma ps ar e ex tracted fo r clustering , synthesi zing , and matching. The par tial Ha usdor ff distance matching with fast algorithm is sug g ested fo r mo ther template searching and ma tching pro cedure. Our alg o rithm is tested w ith diffe rence multiple templates in integ rat ed circuit micro-imag es database. The r esults show tha t the scheme is efficie nt and effectiv e for the task of multiple templates matching and locating .
