AbstractThis paper proposes a novel approach to calculate polyhedra moments. At first the Gaussian theorem is used to convert a volume integral into a surface one, by which we decrease the moment computational complexity from O(N3) to O(N2). Then, an iterative method is proposed to calculate the surface integral. Finally, some comparison shows that the computational complexity of the new method is independent of voxel numbers of polyhedra, therefore the new moment computation is more efficient.
