The patchlayoutof3Dsurfacesrevealsthehigh-levelgeometricandtopologicalstructures.Inthispaper,
we studythepatchlayoutcomputationbydetectingandenclosingfeatureloopsonsurfaces.Wepresent
a hybridframeworkwhichcombinesseveralkeyingredients,includingfeaturedetection,feature
filtering, featurecurveextension,patchsubdivisionandboundarysmoothing.Ourframeworkisableto
compute patchlayoutsthroughconcavefeaturesaspreviousapproaches,butalsoabletogeneratenice
layoutsthroughsmoothingregions.Wedemonstratetheeffectivenessofourframeworkbycomparing
with thestate-of-the-artmethods. |
