With the rapid development of the global economy and information technology, more and more fields needs secure identity recognition. One of the traits of information age is the digital of identity, and how to recognize one’s identity accurately has become a key problem to be solved in the information age. Current identity recognition systems which are based on smart card, identity card or password can not satisfy the requirements of the moden world. Biometric recognition system, especially automatic finger recognition system, has been used in more and more areas as the most convenient and safest kind of identity recognition system, but there are some potential safety concerns in traditional finger recognition system, especially in the aspect of storage and protection of finger template information. This paper mainly concerns the research on the template protection algorithm in automatic finger recognition system through key binding. Based on current technique, a new method of alignment free fuzzy vault has been proposed. At the same time, the information security appeals more and more attention with the rapid progress of electronic commerce and electronic government affairs. Because of the confidentiality of electronic commerce and the sensity of electronic government affairs, in order to secure the information safety, the identity recognition and information encryption methods should be powerful. Traditional information encryption algorithm, such as symmetric key cryptography algorithm, has potential safety concerns in the storage of secret key, in spite of its safe encrytion and decrytion. In addition, secret-key cryptosystem can only stand for users’ digital identities, while it can not stand for users themselves. This paper combines traditional symmetic key encrytion and fuzzy vault algorithm, and proposes a new method of file encrytion based on fuzzy vault. Such system is implemented under Windows platform. The main work of this dissertation is as follows: (1) We propose a new scheme of Alignment-Free Fuzzy Vault. Such scheme realizes the binding of fingerprint sample information and secret key, and thus effectively secures the safety of both of fingerprint information and secret key.
